RECENT EXHIBITIONS

"MONUMENTS and MAQUETTES"
Oct 14, 2000 through Jan 6, 2001 at The Parthenon Museum in Nashville.

Alan's most recent one-man show was held at The Parthenon Museum in Nashville from Oct 14, 2000 through Jan 6, 2001. The exhibit, entitled MONUMENTS and MAQUETTES, contained seventeen pieces in bronze and painted plaster - almost all of them new works for 2000. The show was very well received with record attendance at the opening in October.

Alan exhibited five of his ongoing series of colossal portrait heads of American artists and musicians: Woody Guthrie, Paul Robeson, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, and Leadbelly. These pieces each measure thirty-six inches high. You can read more about these portraits in Alan's Artists' Statement.
